Of Urban Growth Urbanization itself is not a problem.
It promotes economic activities and alleviates pressure on land
resources. However, haphazard and unplanned urban growth has invited
deteriorating environmental condition. The unplanned growth encourages
to public and riverbank encroachment, air pollution, water pollution,
and solid waste accumulation. Among the problem, the Solid waste
is the most visible problem.
