The organization has completed four years of age and running in the fifth year with full of enthusiasm, zeal and emotion to achieve the pre-determined plan of actions towards the pace of solid waste management through world wide proved waste management approach as ZERO WASTE.

The history of establishment of this organization begins with the initiatives of MULTI Disciplinary Consultants (P) Ltd. At the beginning, the initiatives were taken by ZERO WASTE NEPAL, to propagate to reduce the waste at zero level, sending it either to the nature or to the market place through massive awareness campaign based on the public private partnership. Since its establishment as non-profit making organization, ZWN, was encouraged by the patronage given by 'Society for Consulting Architectural and Engineering Firm (SCAEF)' as a promoter.

Objective of the ZWN

The ultimate objective is to create friendly environment by encouraging the general public and CBOs/NGOs eliminating ever-rising problem of solid waste by idea advocacy on Zero Waste Concept and to encourage behavioral change on reuse and recycle of various types of waste. The organization has been frequently organizing several awareness campaigns at local level in association with clubs, INGOS and CBO. The organization's activities are highlighted herewith:

· Awareness program to the general public, governmental / non-governmental organizations to encourage the practice to and recycle reuse the waste,
· Development of methods of minimizing the waste in its source of generation,
· Organizing special projects, seminar & training programme,
· Encouraging public for massive participation on the zero waste activities.
