The open discussion forum in the web site www.zerowaste.org.np
is one of the very useful tools for dissemination of information
sharing experience on Zero Waste concept. Several readers residing
abroad are sending their comments and suggestions. Interestingly,
several people from America, Europe and Asia had access by hitting
the web site frequently. Consequently, the material incorporated
in the web site is being highly effective. However, a lot of things
to be modified and developed. Hits by country are given herewith:
Participation on Traninig Programme
One of the staff from ZWN Mr. Santosh Kumar Gupta had received
the training from an INGO named ITDG. The aim of this training was
to orientate the participants on the device that was designed for
composting of biodegradable waste at household level.
Meeting and Assembly
Till date, twenty executive committee meetings & two general
body meetings have been held to discuss on the various activities
of the organization. In general case, Executive committee meeting
is being held as per requirement or once a month, however, the annual
general body meeting is being held once a year.
• Material Development for awareness programme
In order to set the tract on propagation of the awareness, among
the people, it has developed awareness-promoting materials such
as brochures and lecture papers. Several items for mass information
as T-Shirts and Sun Cap were produced. About hundreds of brochures
have been distributed to the interested organizations. The T-Shirts
and Sun Caps are available on sale. ZWN would be producing other
items of display as stickers for cars, batches and toys.
• Revision of ZWN Constituti
The constitution of the ZWN is revised in accordance to the resolution
made by first annual general assembly held on 10/9/2002. The first
amendment incorporates the instruction of the Social Welfare Council
to make the provision for membership of the individuals dedicated
in Solid Waste Management. The amendment also provides opportunity
for able chapters and specific technical offices for institutionalization
of the activities in the field.
