A great initiatives toward Society

The organization has recently completed a feasibility study on the community based solid waste project for Dharan Municipality. The Municipality, out of 58 Municipalities of Nepal lies in the Eastern Development Region of Nepal with almost 0.1 million of population.

The prime objective of the study was to assess, whether this project is feasible or not to implement in association with massive public participation. And the other objectives are to assess existing quality and quantity of the waste to be handled in future by local community. The study project was commenced from July 2002 to the end of December 2002 with consisting experts of particular fields.

As study reveled that the project is socially, economically and technologically feasible tremendously.

In accordance with the report, the total per day waste generation is 22.69 ton with composition of biodegradable waste 53.53 %, recyclable waste 26.20 % and inert material 20.27 % and the eagerness of the local people, institution, business house, and NGOs/ CBO for implementation is extremely high.
